Bio/Wiki
Twisters is nothing less than the direct sequel of the last ‘Twister’ which was a very interesting disaster movie that had amazing effects and a great story to go with it. The second films continued with storm chasers led by Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt who were hunting tornadoes in the Midwestern plains of America in a bid to learn how to protect humanity from them. Twisters picks up from this point, telling the story of new storm chasers who are just as topically inclined in tornadoes as the previous ones but this time, they have an ambition to record the tornadoes on film.

Though the details of the plot are being kept under wraps, it is likely that this will focus on the new characters and their development through the storms in the nature and the storms in their personal lives. Because of cutting edge CGI, there shall be great tornado scenes which aims to take the visuals of a disaster film to another level, while the plot is about integrating peoples lives with a chaotic nature that is tumultuous in its every sense.
Cast & Crew
Twisters emerges as a film that boasts both rookies and seasoned veterans in the cast. There had been speculations that Helen Hunt would return, but no such news had been made. However, the cast members that have been confirmed have created a lot of anticipation:
- Daisy Edgar-Jones: Starring in Normal People who has the lead role in the film. In Twisters, the character of Daisy’s character is one who needs to be well-rounded mind unlike other roles where it is just being quiet.
- Glen Powell: After being in Top Gun: Maverick, Glen Powell has now stepped into one of the storm chasers. From what we can gather, his character is set to be a wild member of the team which makes sense in a film about wild storms.
Behind the camera, a talented crew ensures Twisters will be an unforgettable cinematic experience:
- Director: The movie Twisters is directed by Lee Isaac Chung who was nominated for an Oscar because of his direction in the movie Minari. His strong point as a director is that disaster movies of his do not center around the destruction but strong characters and great sequences.
- Writer: Twisters, the film’s screenplay was written by Mark L. Smith who has worked on the film The Revenant making this film promising as well.
- Producers: Frank Marshall is back among the producers as he maintained the legacy of working on Twister (1996) besides working under the company of Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment. Spielberg’s connection should raise the production values and help develop the storyline in a fascinating way.
- Music: The score is a joint production with Hans Zimmer whose ability to integrate emotional effect into terrific soundmakers makes him ideal for the action-packed and intense Twisters.
Location
Similarly to its predecessor, Twisters is also situated in the American heartland known as ”Tornado Alley” due to its location in the Midwest which is associated with intense tornado formations. Major sites for shooting are Oklahoma and Kansas states, which experience tornadoes in the spring and summer. The landscape of this part of the United States has made the work of the filmmakers easier as it is possible to capture real weather conditions in the locations.

Apart from Midwestern, it revolves around the Hollywood more core tornado fans to the extreme of shooting tornado ravage because the moments are too dangerous to film even in a setting. Leverage of contemporary and economical visual effects will offer the viewers the most advanced dimensions of tornadoes more realistically than ever.
Budget Insights
The estimated production cost of Twisters is around $100 million and involves a significant amount of investment aimed towards effects. The original intent of the directors was to create a tornado using CGI and incorporate the idea into the latter parts of the movie. Technology has indeed come a long way and we can certainly expect a more realistic portrayal of storms in the upcoming Twisters. The film attempts to improve on the stunning visuals of its predecessor.
Some of the budget will be used to integrate the natural environment into the film, enhancing realism while also allowing users to interact with it. The requirement for on-location shooting as well as the lack of resources for advertising or marketing did interfere with some of the expected finances – however, this will likely not affect the final outcome.
As it seems quite a challenge with only a couple of years left till the release date, Universal Pictures will not disappoint the fans of the franchise and bring the hyped campaigns.
